Essential Oils
Basil - antiseptic, reduces fever, warming, muscle relaxant. When used in skin care Basil essential oil is reputed to nourish, repair, balance, calm, smooth, exfoliate, and brighten the complexion.
Bergamot - antibacterial, antiseptic, deodorising and balances oil production. Calming and relaxing.
Black Pepper - antioxidant, supports the immune system. Analgesic and antiseptic.
Cedarwood - anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial, great for acne prone skin.
Chamomile (roman) - helps to reduce swelling, has anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and anti-viral properties.
Clary Sage - helps to regulate sebum production, tones the skin, is a mild astringent, and reduces inflammation associated with acne. It also has anti-bacterial properties.
Eucalyptus - its active chemical components contribute to its reputation as a purifying, cleansing, clarifying, and immune-boosting oil that is ideal for use on skin and in aromatherapy. It is known for its ability to reduce or eliminate harmful surface and airborne bacteria, and infections upon contact.
Frankincense - is a powerful astringent meaning it helps protect skin cells. It can be used to help reduce acne blemishes, the appearance of large pores, prevent wrinkles and it even helps lift and tighten skin to naturally slow signs of ageing.
Geranium Bourbon - used cosmetically Geranium essential oil is reputed to effectively eliminate dead cells, tighten the skin, promote the regeneration of new skin, and diminish signs of ageing. Used medicinally, Geranium Essential Oil works as an anti-inflammatory and anti-septic agent. Also effective in relieving stress and tension.
Jasmine - Jasmine is rich in a variety of active chemical components that are beneficial to the skin. Because of its antioxidants Jasmine can help protect from environmental stressors and can be anti-ageing. Jasmine oil helps treat dry skin and provide natural moisture that won't clog pores.
Juniper Berry - this oil is used mostly because of its anti-inflammatory properties. It helps with any skin problems including seborrhea, dermatitis and acne. It is effective in case of puffiness and water retention and improves the blood circulation in the subcutaneous layer.
Lavender - as well as being very calming and relaxing lavender oil helps reduce redness, blotchy patches and acne scarring. Its anti-inflammatory properties make it great for soothing and healing skin that's irritated or reddened from the sun, insect bites or bacteria.
Lemon - Lemon essential oil acts as a detoxifying agent that nourishes, cleanses and exfoliates skin while clearing up skin issues such as oiliness and acne. It also has great anti bacterial properties.
Mandarin - anti-ageing, rich in antioxidants, Mandarin essential oil has been shown to help neutralise free radicals that can damage skin cells and often act as the primary cause of early signs of ageing.
Marjoram - one of the most significant benefits Marjoram essential oil offers is its ability to have a positive effect on the nervous system. It is also used for its calming properties. Helps prevent facial wrinkles and acne prone skin. Balances skin tone.

Myrtle - Myrtle essential oil has clarifying, cleansing, refreshing and uplifting properties. It is said to be an oil that is emotionally cleansing, curbing self-defeating feelings and addictions.
Neroli -this oil is said to reduce inflammation, alleviate stress, stimulate circulation and enhance mood.It is used in skin-care to treat oily skin, reduce signs of ageing and diminish the appearance of scars and stretch marks.

Patchouli - this gorgeous, woody fragranced oil can soothe inflammation, fight water retention, break up cellulite, relieve constipation, promote weight loss and facilitate the faster healing of wounds by stimulating the growth of new skin. It is also useful deodoriser. Eases the symptoms of colds, headaches and stomach upsets. Anti fungal and antibacterial.

Peppermint - Peppermint oil has soothing and cooling abilities that really help where inflammation is occurring. It freshens the skin and also has properties that facilitate oil secretion making it an effective component against acne. Helps in reducing headaches.
Pettigrain - the natural antiseptic, antibacterial and anti-infectious properties of Pettitgrain oil assist in fighting bacteria and other microbes that can cause wounds to become infected. Pettitgrain oil plays a vital role in skin care as it helps clear skin blemishes, acne and oily skin.

Rose Damask - this rich, gorgeous scented oil has many benefits which include helping skin heal from scars, fighting inflammation, relieving stress and promoting circulation. Beautifully moisturising and nurturing.
Rose Geranium - used in skincare, Rose Geranium oil is reputed to balance the skin's natural oil production, minimise the appearance of enlarged pores, reduce infection/acne-causing bacteria, enhance circulation and reduce the appearance of dull skin. Its antioxidant properties may help reduce signs of ageing.

Rosemary - Rosemary oil will provide your skin with iron, calcium and several essential vitamins. Rosemary oil is an antioxidant which gives it anti-ageing properties. Additionally it will help prevent damage to your skin from environmental agents. It is anti-inflammatory which helps in reduction of pain and tension. Do not use if you have epilepsy.

Rosewood - with its beautiful woody, sweet scent Rosewood is a great pain reliever and ideal for aromatherapy. It provides a middle to base note in blends. With its uplifting yet steadying scent it is often used to aid relaxation making it ideal to use at bedtime to help you unwind at the end of the day.
Sandalwood - this king of oils has a wonderful earthy, woody fragrance. It is very grounding and balancing. It has been used as an antiseptic and astringent and for the treatment of headaches and stomach ache. Great for meditation.

Tea Tree - the anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effect of tea tree oil helps to soothe and relieve painful and irritated skin. It may also help to reduce redness and swelling. Also a great natural insect repellent.

Vanilla - anti-ageing and rich in antioxidants, Vanilla prevents and reverses skin damage caused by free radicals. It helps to slow down signs of ageing like fine lines, wrinkles and age spots. Inhibits bacteria, Vanilla is effective in stopping the spread of bacteria without risking your health.

Vetiver - by conditioning and nourishing the skin, Vetiver oil promotes the growth of new skin. Its regenerative properties facilitate the healing of wounds as well as the disappearance of scars, stretch marks and acne. A very useful pain reliever.

Ylang Ylang - a wondrously sweet smelling oil. Used cosmetically Ylang Ylang Oil is best known for balancing and regulating oil production in the skin and helps to prevent excessive dryness and oiliness. It is sedative, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-depressant and helps with anxiety too.

Manuka Honey - has medicinal and antibacterial properties. It draws vital moisture into the skin which is hydrating, moisturising, nourishing and rejuvenating restoring the skins natural glow. Manuka honey also helps to balance the skin’s PH levels and helps to clear blemishes.
Organic Coconut Oil - Coconut oil keeps the skin beautifully moisturised and other benefits include helping to reduce inflammation and wound healing. The medium-chain fatty acids found in coconut oil also possess anti-microbial properties that can help to treat acne and protect the skin from harmful bacteria.

Apricot Kernel Oil - high in vitamins A and E this oil is deeply nourishing and especially good for dry or mature skin.

Organic Rosehip Oil - this oil contains 80% essential fatty acids (EFA’s) which are said to have excellent regenerative, restructuring, softening and moisturising properties. It is often recommended for scars and spots. Ideal for delicate, damaged and mature skin.
Organic Olive Oil - naturally high in squalene (a natural organic compound) this oil naturally mimics your skin’s natural sebum so it will leave your skin barrier extra smooth and soft. It is also full of antioxidants that work to fight environmental skin damage.

NZ Bees Wax - the anti-inflammatory properties of bees wax encourage the healing of wounds. It also helps form a barrier between the skin and the environment without clogging pores. Being high in vitamin A it has been found to support cell reconstruction and health.

Lavender Hydrosol - Hydrosols, sometimes referred to as floral waters, are aromatic waters that remain after steam-distilling or hydro distilling botanical materials. Hydrosols are much gentler than essential oils which means they can be used directly on the skin.

Organic Cocoa Butter - high in fatty acids cocoa butter has the wonderful ability to hydrate and nourish the skin and improve elasticity. The fat in cocoa butter forms a protective barrier over skin to help hold in moisture. It is also useful in helping to smooth scars, wrinkles and other marks on the skin.
Organic Shea Butter - being high in fatty acids and vitamins this butter is ideal for softening skin. Using this butter on your face can help to condition, tone and soothe your skin. Other benefits are: moisturises dry skin, treats acne and blemishes, reduces inflammation, anti-ageing helps restore elasticity of the skin.

Organic Aloe Vera Gel - containing antioxidants, enzymes and vitamins A and C Aloe Vera gel is highly anti-inflammatory. It provides a protective barrier that helps keep moisture locked in. Its cooling effects reduce acne inflammation and assist in healing, removing redness and soothing dry or angry skin.
White Clay - White clay is gentle and therefore great for sensitive/dry skin. It softens skin with fine particles that provide mild exfoliation while preventing the skin from becoming dry.

OliveM - a natural emulsifying wax derived from olives. PEG free (polyethylene glycols) - petroleum-based compounds. Promotes functional skin hydration. It helps reduce water loss from the skin and has a high moisturising effect. It is hypoallergenic.

Geogard Ultra Preservative - a natural preservative comprised of a combination of naturally occurring food additives, glucono lactone, derived from corn and a food grade preservative sodium benzoate. Geogard ultra is an effective broad spectrum preservative which can be included in organic products. It is a proven moisturiser too.

Vitamin E - Tocopheryl Acetate is a stabilised form of Vitamin E which works as a preservative and helps to sustain shelf life of products. It plays a crucial role in protecting skin cells and membranes from environmental damage. This protection extends to stopping damage to the skin from UV, pollutants and ageing. It provides deep moisturisation for the skin whilst allowing it to breathe and function naturally therefore helping to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Organic Glycerine - this is plant derived, Palm free and certified organic, no artificial pesticides or harmful chemicals are used in its farming or processing. Glycerine is the most widely used humectant (retaining/preserving moisture) for natural and organic cosmetics. It offers water binding properties that can balance the skin’s NMF (natural moisturising factor). This aids in keeping the skin healthy and assists in maintaining the structure of the epidermis (outer layer of skin) thus making it an ideal ingredient for skin care preparations that are designed to increase water content of the skin and smooth the skin such as moisturisers.

Arrowroot Powder - also called arrowroot starch absorbs oil and is therefore a useful ingredient in deodorant. It makes the skin noticeably softer and smoother. It also has anti-inflammatory properties.

Organic Rice Flour - if you have sensitive skin, skin that breaks out easily or skin that is oily with dry patches; you should not be using traditional scrubs for your face. The store-bought scrubs are often too harsh and contain chemicals which will further damage your skin. Of course, exfoliation is important. The best thing for your skin is to use a gentle and fine exfoliator that does not irritate the skin. This is why I use organic rice flour.

What’s not in our products?
​
Parabens - used as a preservative in the skincare and food industry. These are known to disrupt hormone function, an effect that is linked to an increase in breast cancer and reproductive toxicity.
​
PEGs - Polyetheylene glycols are petroleum-based compounds that are widely used in cosmetics as thickeners, solvents, softeners and moisture carriers. PEGs are commonly used as cosmetic cream bases, being a penetration enhancer they allow harmful ingredients to be absorbed more readily through the skin.
​
Artificial Fragrance - many synthetic chemicals in fragrances are derived from petrochemicals (petroleum based) and can be harmful.
Chemicals found in man-made fragrances include phthalates which are endocrine disruptors and benzene derivatives, aldehydes and toluene which are known carcinogens.
​
Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) - Has been linked to cancer, neurotoxicity, organ toxicity, skin irritation and causes problems with the endocrine system. This can cause irritation to your eyes, skin, mouth and lungs. For people with sensitive skin it could also clog pores and cause acne.
Palm Oil - Up to 300 football fields of forest are cleared every HOUR to make room for palm plantations. It appears in a dizzying amount of food and cosmetic products, it is a feedstock for biofuel and poses many environmental problems. It's the largest driver of Indonesian deforestation, which destroys habitat and contributes to climate change. The biggest impact of palm oil production is widespread habitat loss for endangered species like Asian rhinos, elephants, tigers and orangutans.
